Social Distancing Plan for the Frontier Faire

We will update this protocol continually as the Faire approaches. As the event will be divided into different areas and spaced 6 ft. apart the following information has been considered. The program area is approximately .713 acres or 7535.88 square feet. The total divided by 30 is approximately 250 attendees.

In order to follow suggested guidelines, several booths and interactive portions (public archaeology with students, hands-on kids’ activities, storytelling) will not be offered. However, there will be the opportunity to provide talks and tours of the site, living history demonstrations, and provide kids’ demonstrations of historic games, writing, and basic family tree construction. Additionally, there will be Educational Booklets and take-home craft bag for kids.

The 10 x 10 tents will be spaced 6 – 12 ft apart and a line will note the 6ft apart distance between the demonstrator and the attendees. Hand sanitizer and masks will be provided. Volunteers will make sure there are no more than 4 people in the lab at a time. Additional signage will be posted to notify attendees of the 6 ft apart spacing. For those visitors who do not feel comfortable attending an on-site event, volunteers are finalizing plans to potentially stream various portions of the Faire and to make on demand videos available after the event.
